What would a utopian future look like after the breakdown of the present structures and the elimination of hostilities? Our logical thought patterns will have changed. Black and white will no longer be opposites. Boundaries will be erased and meanings will be mixed like cocktails.

This performance was inspired by Afrofuturism – the dream of a place where freedom, equality, the past, the present and the future all exist together in a mystical, limitless room. A utopian landscape where ethnic diversity, personality variation and the wide and deep unknown can exist simultaneously, with no demands for unification. What sort of landscape would that be?

It is the year 2021.

Cosmic Latte opened at Zodiak in May, 2018. The choreographer, Sonya Lindfors was awarded for meritorious contribution to the art of the stage at the 2018 International Anti-Festival.
